Frequently Asked Questions
What is DASAL?
DASAL (Driving Atlas Search Advancement & Lifecycle) is a long term early access program providing its members with a white-glove experience, and access to multiple new upcoming Atlas Search features, before they reach General Availability.
Members have the opportunity to influence feature design and development, and receive a tailored experience, by working closely together with the product managers and engineers of Atlas Search, earning feature guidance and best practices.
We also invite any interested members, in sharing their feature experience with us, which can be featured on our MongoDB website or other social channels.
What happens after I enroll?
- After you have enrolled into DASAL, to try the features before launch, you will be redirected to the virtual DASAL Lobby, within the MongoDB Developers Community Forums, whilst we evaluate your enrollment. During the evaluation we will let you know what your next steps would be. This may include signing an NDA, or a quick call with our product managers to understand your use case a bit better.
- Once the next steps are completed, you will receive a “Welcome to DASAL” email in your inbox with onboarding instructions to get set up, and a link to the private DASAL category for members, where you can post questions in the private forum and get the latest updates on the feature, such as where to access the feature and the get-started-guide documentation.
What is expected of me once I join DASAL?
- Before joining the program, it may be required to sign an NDA.
- Upon joining DASAL, we expect all participants to test the feature on real workloads within test environments. Early access features within DASAL are not recommend for production environments.
- Additionally, we expect participants to provide actionable feedback on the feature, through the recurring 1:1 calls with the product manager and the occasional survey.
What are the current or upcoming new features in DASAL?
Please reach out to your MongoDB Account Manager about this, or email us at dasal@mongodb.com for more information.
Features made available within the DASAL program are only available for evaluation purposes, to validate functionality, and to gather feedback from a small group of early access users. It is not recommended for production deployments as breaking changes may be introduced.
How can I get started with testing?
Once the next feature is announced as available for testing within the private forum, we will connect with you to set up a recurring 1:1 call with you and the Product Manager, to help you get started and to regularly check-in on the testing progress. This gives you the chance to ask questions and get direct support from the product manager and our engineers.
