July 20 15:15 | Love of Lucene | Erik Hatcher |
From Amazon and Apple to Zappos and Zillow and almost every e-commerce and content serving website in
between, Lucene is the heart and soul powering their search and discovery capabilities. While Lucene has
been around for a while, it has kept up with modern day scale and the latest search innovations. Developers
often come to know Lucene through the engines and products that embed it, such as Elasticsearch, Solr,
Lucidworks Fusion, and Atlas Search.
This talk will peel away the layers often surrounding Lucene; let’s take a look at what it can do and how it can be
leveraged effectively in your projects.
The presentation was powered by Erik's ProcessCene project, designed to interact with Lucene's API, as well as Atlas Search, directly. The uberconf2023
tag and release snapshot the state of the project when it was delivered.
