I took the DBA Associate test today, but unfortunately I didn’t pass. But I didn’t understand why there were 81 questions, and why it took so long to start the test. When it opened, there weren’t 66 questions. Why did this happen? I was very sad because I got an exclusive coupon as a student, which I won’t be able to use again.
Hi Joyci! Occasionally we pre-test unscored items that do not impact your score on the exam. We share this information in the exam guide that candidates might see more questions on the exam than planned, but we extend the time in the exam as well so it does not impact anything. The pre-tested items are not scored and do not impact your score.
We pretest items to ensure that our exam questions are reliable - We analyze the statistics related to each item’s performance to ensure that we have valid, fair, and reliable exams. We do all of this before we determine if an item will be used as a scored item on an exam in the future.
