Unable to install software (no admin rights)

I’m not able to install Vagrant on my work laptop since the machine is locked down, but I do have VirtualBox 5.1.28 installed as well as MongoDB Enterprise (4.0.3), Compass and also have an Atlas account.

Is it possible to complete labs using these?

Hi James_11323,

I am afraid if it will be as easy as it would be in vagrant, as environment setup, validation scripts and lot of things are there.

Try running from your mongo shell and see if you can make things work!

Installing Vagrant is simply not an option.

Could you possibly share the validation scripts?
I have had a look at the labs in adding users, etc is all possible in my existing software stack - but I don’t have the validate script to generate a validation key.

Or is there another way to mark my efforts? If not I will have leave the course.

Sure. Give me some time, I will get back to you.

HI James_11323,

Which OS you are working on?

Even if I share the validation scripts, they might not work as they are compiled binaries.

This is the configuration on which m103 vagrant is: Welcome to Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS (GNU/Linux 3.13.0-153-generic x86_64)

Let me know if it is different and if we can build binaries for you!

Windows 10 (x86, 64 bit).

Assume the binary validation scripts are part of the VM image?

As I said in my original post I have Oracle VirtualBox 5.1.28 already installed so if its possible to get a copy the VM image and launch it manually (rather than via Vagrant then this should work, right?
