Trusted MongoDB developers available for hiring in this community

I think like me there would be others in this community who would hire some developers from here, but I haven’t found any topic about it.
It is an additional trust factor if you can check ones’ history, reputation here…
So if it exist, pls. categorize and tag it, maybe pin it to be more easily available,
if it doesn’t exist, pls. create one, I think it would be useful for many of us!

Hi @Vane_T,

Thank you for the feedback! We actually had a Careers category available from the launch of this site in February 2020 through most of last year. The Careers category was extremely underutilised, so we ended up archiving it. For those looking for work (or hiring), there are established job marketplaces with much larger user bases and more specialist focus areas (by region, type of work, language, etc).

Community members are generally here for open discussion rather than commercial opportunities, but public discussion and reputation is definitely a great way to see expertise applied. If members are open to being contacted for work opportunities, I would add this information to the “About Me” section in your community profile. This isn’t as overt as a job listing category and allows members to decide to connect based on interaction.

The resources at MongoDB University are also helpful for building and verifying trust: someone can earn shareable course completion certificates for free online courses through MongoDB University or level up to paid Professional Certification as a MongoDB DBA and/or Developer. MongoDB Certified Professionals can opt into being included in the public Certified Professional FInder, which may be helpful for work opportunities.

Job-related networking is often more successful within a local or regional scope, so I would definitely encourage anyone interested to get involved with our MongoDB User Groups. The user groups are mostly virtual (rather than in-person) at the moment, which has some benefits including more diverse attendees.

While job listings probably aren’t a great fit for this site right now, we’re open to related suggestions on what might be of interest to support work opportunities.

Regards,
Stennie

Hi @Vane_T,

The Careers category has been unarchived.

Please see About the Careers category for category guidelines.

Note that new posts in this category are currently restricted to established users (Saplings) to mitigate spam.

Hi @Stennie_X

thank you for your response!

On job marketplaces like Upwork, Freelancer etc. a huge issue is the fake reviews, ratings etc., so I prefer to spare that frustration - I think many of us would do the same.
In such a community like this, where a reputation system exist, I think it’s easier to find the right person.
I’ve spent weeks with studying and testing MongoDB Atlas etc., reading docs, watching videos at YT etc., but I have to admit - not being a developer - it’s sometimes better to pay a specialist instead of wasted days and weeks.
Maybe the “Careers” naming was not so obvious for many people here, or it was not featured or listed in front of the other topics, I don’t know.
( I searched for “marketplace”, “jobs”, “hire” keywords here before posting my topic )

Since I’m not a Sapling, I can not post a job, so un-archiving that topic doesn’t help me, but it might help others…
Thank you for your response again!

Hello @Vane_T
it’s not that much of work to reach Trust Level 2 (Sapling).
I am curios on your posting and how this category will grow. Thanks @Stennie_X for unarchiving.

Michael

Hi @Vane_T,

The Careers category is currently in the first group on the homepage (“About the Community”), but naming things is challenging for a global audience  . However, we will continue to adjust based on feedback and usage to help support an active and healthy community.

Getting to the Sapling trust level requires spending a bit of time in the community (see: Sapling Requirements), but based on your current activity you are almost there!

Stennie
