Problem with .bash_profile in macOS high sierra

Hi, I created .bash_profile in my home dir. but I still got the error as below.

$echo $PATH

β€œ~/mongodb-osx-x86_64-enterprise-4.0.4/bin:??

$source ~/.bash_profile

-bash: /Users/weif/.bash_profile: No such file or directory

$

Yikes, your PATH var is NOT correct. What is shown by the echo is bad.

Also, apparently you did not create the profile file with the right name. Can you please run:

ls -al ~/*profile*

Thanks for your help. I managed to solve the issue.

I was wondering how you solved this. I am running into the same issue.

I ran the command you instructed and I was prompted with
ls: /Users/renevatio/*profile*: No such file or directory
Please advise. Thank you.

Well Daniel, this suggests that you did not make the β€œ.profile” file as expected. The β€œls” command shows that there are zero profile-files in your home directory.

Hello and thank you for the response. Attached you will see a screen shot. Per the instructional video, I have created it. Did I do so incorrectly perhaps?

What I did notice though, is when I created it, this text export PS1 = '$ ' was not in the file as it was in the video. So I manually added it. Then as instructed I updated the path with export PATH = "~/mongodb-osx-x86_64-enterprise-4.0.5/bin:$PATH"
