MongoDB 5.0.14 segfault on Ubuntu 20.04

Hi, we have experienced random crashes on 2 different servers. Below is the stack trace from mongod.log. Each server is a member of a 3-node replica set (and part of a sharded cluster). I was wondering if anyone has any clues on what is causing the seg fault. Each server has 128GB RAM with 16 threads (Intel Xeon E2288G CPU @ 3.70Ghz).

At the time of crash, they seem to be pretty busy.

Sorry you’re experiencing this issue. I think this needs a more in-depth analysis. Do you mind opening a ticket in the SERVER project detailing the issue? Please post all relevant informations (logs, stacktraces, core dumps, etc.) that may help determining the root cause.

Upgrade to the lastest patch of 5.0 5.0.26 and see if the issue persists. Many critical advisories have been patch since 5.0.9: https://www.mongodb.com/docs/manual/release-notes/5.0/

MongoDB 5.0 will be end of life in October, consider upgrading to MongoDB 6.0.
