Mongod.conf cannot access or update

Chapter 1: The Mongod

Lab: Configuration File

Launch a mongod instance in the IDE terminal with a configuration file:

  1. Write the configuration file. There should be an empty configuration file in your IDE File Editor, where you can specify options in YAML.As a reminder, here are the requirements of your mongod instance:
  • run on port 27000
  • authentication is enabled
  1. When your config file is complete, launch mongod with the --config command line option:

Problem Statement
Cannot complete this exercise. Step 1 requires that you update the configuration file in IDE File Editor. The instruction ‘There should be an empty Configuration file in your IDE Editor’ is ambiguous. 1. the name of the file is undefined assume ‘mongo.conf’; 2. the location of the file is undefined; 3. no instructions on how to access and update the file.

Are you still facing issues?
When you open IDE for the lab you should see browse files on left side
In file editor area edit the file using vi or other text editors
Save it and run from the terminal area
