You may not need this parameter tls.mode

It will complicate things
Please remove it and try

sorry Its solved ,
Now I have new error this
You need to start mongod with a configuration file.

This is when I run validate_lab_configuration_file cmd

How did you start your mongod?
ps -ef|grep mongo

Please follow lab instructions
You can run it from command line or using config file
Please read documentation/your lectures

1.I started mongod on 27000 port as per lab requirement .
2.and then on another command line with mongo --port 27000.
Then in shell I can access the conf file details .
3.exit from shell.
4. mongod --config path/to/file
5.validate commnad

vagrant@m103:~$ ps -ef|grep mongo
vagrant 2489 2149 2 16:56 tty1 00:00:06 mongod --port 27000 --dbpath /data/db --logpath /data/log/mongod.log --bind_ip localhost, 192.168.103.100 --authvagrant 2535 2067 0 17:00 pts/0 00:00:00 grep --color=auto mongo

vagrant@m103:~ mongod -f /shared/mongod.conf 2020-04-02T17:40:49.258+0000 I CONTROL [main] log file "/data/log/mongod.log" exists; moved to "/data/log/mongod.log.2020-04-02T17-40-49". vagrant@m103:~ validate_lab_configuration_file
You need to start mongod with a configuration file.

please help

Shutdown the non-config mongod that’s running  and start it up using the config file.

Hi @RK30,

Any update on this ?

Please feel free to get back to us if you are facing any issue.

~ Shubham

it means with --config command and conf file. right?
beause even after I shutdown its the same error

I didn’t understand your last post. Show us a screenshot of what you did.

on another cmnd window server is running on port 27000

What else I am doing wrong?

You need to shut it down like I previously mentioned. You can check what processes are running:
ps -ef | grep [m]ongo

It shows nothing after this command now.

vagrant@m103:~ ps -ef | grep [m]ongo vagrant@m103:~

Start up the mongod using the config file and ensure that it meets all 4 requirements:

mongod --port 27000 --dbpath /data/db/ --bind_ip “localhost,192.168.103.100” --auth

This is what i did all time.

This is not a config file.

This is taking much time. Please explain me…
The steps I followed are
1.I started mongod on 27000 port as per lab requirement .
2.and then on another command line with mongo --port 27000.
Then in shell I can access the conf file details .
3.exit from shell.
4. mongod --config path/to/file
5.validate commnad

This is what you did in the first lab and it does not use a config file. You must kill/shutdown this process.

This is the one that must be running. Make sure this is the only process running. You also need to create the user as instructed in the lab.
