Hey all, I’m fairly new to MongoDB coming from SQL and relational land. We’re working on a game that allows users to create a clan, which can hold an arbitrary number of users (we’re thinking 25 initially but should be able to scale up to 100+). The thing we’re torn on is whether we should create a clan document that has an array of users as ids, or whether to embed the clan id reference inside the user then when we need all users we just query all users that have that matching clan id.
What’s the best practice way to go here? In terms of querying, we’ll need know an entire clan’s users often as well as the “active” playing user in that clan.
