Could you help me a few more details on what you are trying to achieve:

1. If the Date mentioned in the latest response is same as the pubdate field in the first post.
2. If you wish to use the range operator, do you intend to modify the pubdate/Date field to the ISODate() format?
3. Lastly, to help clarify scenario, could you please provide us with a sample query (or perhaps intended query) that you are trying to implement in regards to the following:

I was wondering if we can use Date with a simple search and also with must, should, so if we add filter date or must date with lte & gte in the first stage of the compound
