Cross-cloud resiliency

To preserve high availability and guard against outages, you want to avoid dependence on any one cloud service in any area. Multi-cloud lets you choose multiple providers in each geography, spreading outage risk while preserving the required data sovereignty. A backup cloud – or two – with a secondary provider can guard against outages, enable better disaster recovery, and support business continuity.

Avoid lock-in

The flip side of data mobility is the risk of becoming too invested in a single cloud provider. There are reasons you might want to get out. For example, the provider starts competing with you; or a business acquisition requires you to use a different provider; or another provider offers technologies or services that your current provider doesn’t.
