About the role

We’re looking for a talented, driven leader with great energy, passion and initiative to lead a highly talented leadership team, who drive awareness and new business acquisition for the fastest growing data platform on the planet throughout the ASEAN region. 

The ASEAN leadership team concentrates on formulating and executing a sales development and growth strategy within assigned countries in the ASEAN region, resulting in revenue growth, new customer acquisition and career development for all.

As the Senior Director with a focus on Recruitment, Development and Execution for the ASEAN team, you will drive revenue and assure the continued successful trajectory of one of the highest growth regions in the company.

What you will be doing

  • Coach the regional leadership team to close business to exceed monthly, quarterly and annual bookings objectives
  • Enable the team to proactively prospect, identify, qualify and develop sales pipeline
  • Proactively recruit first line Sales Managers and Sales Executives across both SMB and Enterprise territories
  • Foster strong and effective relationships with partners, resulting in growth opportunities
  • Work closely with Professional Services team to achieve customer satisfaction and with Marketing to conduct seminars, trade shows and other marketing related events
  • Be an example of MongoDB culture and values; live them, and inspire others


What you will bring to the table

  • 10+ years of technology sales experience and 5+ years in a leadership capacity where you have built and/or scaled a team of 50+ 
  • Ability to articulate the business value of complex enterprise software technology
  • Ability to attract and recruit excellent employees 
  • Ability to train and develop individuals to ensure they accomplish organizational goals; actively build capability in employees through coaching and experience to provide a continuous flow of talent in the future (put the right people in the right place at the right time)
  • Excellent leadership and influencing skills; ability to build strong business and stakeholder partnerships both outside and within the organization
  • Skilled at business planning and diligent at measuring and communicating progress towards the plan, identifying roadblocks, and coming up with appropriate solutions
  • Skilled in managing time and resources; sound approach to qualifying opportunities             
  • Holds managers and individuals accountable to achieve broad-based success             
  • Experience finding creative and innovative ways to open up new markets and opportunities

  • Previous experience using a proven Sales Methodology (e.g. MEDDICC, SPIN, Challenger Sales)
  • Familiarity with databases, develops and open source technology a plus
