Product Manager, Security

MongoDB is looking for an outstanding Product Manager to take on a key role in our Database Product organization. This is a rare opportunity to join a team at the center of sales, marketing, and engineering for a company that is leading innovation in a $60B market.  The team leads product direction, packaging, and pricing for the fastest growing database technology. 


In this highly visible position, drive collaboration on security across engineering, corporate security, design, marketing, sales, and executive leadership

  • Lead the team to the right product decisions via deep engagement with internal stakeholders, customers, prospects, and market study
  • Advocate to make MongoDB the most secure database platform in the world for our customers
  • Provide an unparalleled customer experience by conceiving and driving new features, marketing programs, customer surveys, partnerships, pricing, and technical documentation
  • Bring a passion for safety and security to every stage of the product lifecycle
  • Work with the various field teams to appropriately map out customer use cases and requirements
  • Articulate MongoDB’s security features and functionality in customer conversations
  • Derive and champion requirements based on external audit cycles and governing bodies


  • 5+ years of product management or equivalent experience with a complex technical product with deep security requirements
  • Experience and demonstrated success in delivering trusted software to regulated markets
  • Have the ability to communicate complex technical issues simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences
  • Understanding of various public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, GCP, and their Government Cloud Equivalents
  • Deep technical understanding in one or more area - Identity and Access Management, Encryption, Run time security (breach detection, vulnerability management), and Cloud workload security capabilities
  • Domain knowledge across several compliance standards and frameworks such as FedRAMP, FIPS, NIST, PCI, HIPAA, SOC2, ISO, ANSI, ETSI
  • Ability to write, promote, and execute business cases
  • B.Sc. in a technical discipline (Computer Science preferred) or relevant experience

  • Certifications or similar evidence of professional milestone completion and maintenance
  • Demonstrated success as a product manager on a fast-paced, growing team
  • Comfortable with stage presence and frequent public talks
  • Self-starter who enjoys strategic challenges across a broad range of disciplines
  • Community support and participation to advance cloud security such as conference or meetup panels and blog or paper authorship

Success Measures

  • In 3 months you will be fully versed in the MongoDB data platform and understand our current security offerings completely
  • In 6 months you will understand and be able to clearly communicate the needs of the stakeholders you will be managing
  • In 9 months you will be using that understanding to direct the engineering roadmap and ensure the successful release and use of new features by our engineering teams
