Senior Product Manager, Ops Education

The Education team is a group of dedicated engineers, technical writers, and curriculum developers whose mission is to educate MongoDB users and equip them to be successful. The guides, reference documentation, sample apps, and video we maintain are essential to everyone building infrastructure and user-facing applications using MongoDB. We help create great user experiences by providing outstanding learning opportunities.

Our ideal candidate will have

  • Substantial experience in product management, software engineering, or developer evangelism
  • A passion for helping engineers get the most out of the software they use
  • A track record of success creating user guides and other technical documentation that delights developers
  • Substantial experience contributing to and maintaining a product roadmap
  • A data-driven approach to prioritization
  • The ability to successfully manage multiple projects across 2-3 teams simultaneously

Position Expectations

  • Manage collaboration with MongoDB software engineering teams to plan and design user guides, reference docs, sample apps, and video to help developers learn and use MongoDB features
  • Drive continuous improvement of the user experience across all MongoDB documentation targeting infrastructure engineers, database administrators, and DevOps teams
  • Deliver documentation in alignment with designs and on time for software releases

Success Measures

  • Ownership: Successfully deliver excellent documentation on schedule. Continuously improve the docs user experience, especially with respect to new user experiences and other growth areas
  • Collaboration: A "build-together" mindset. Effective collaboration with engineering, marketing, and evangelism teams to help implement a unified content strategy
  • Leadership: Demonstrated thought leadership with respect to user documentation, success measures, and continuous improvement. Regular feedback to the team on the degree to which our documentation is meeting user needs
