How to enter the MongoDB 4.2 GA Challenge

In August, we opened up the MongoDB 4.2 GA Challenge, your chance to say what you liked the most in MongoDB 4.2 and get the chance to win $1000 of Atlas credits - enough to run, for example, an M10 cluster for a year. If you missed it, don't worry and read on:

Towards the end of the competition, we got some feedback from a number of readers that the entry form for the competition was, due to an oversight in creation, asking for their Google log in and they were therefore not entering. We tracked down the setting which was triggering the login request, but by that time it was already too late for many readers to get in their entries.

We looked for the fairest way of remedying this, and we've decided to move the closing date to the end of November, so everyone has a chance to take part without using a Google login. We'll still be asking for your email address, but only so we can contact you at the end of the challenge.

The 4.2 GA Challenge

The question then becomes what features did you like? Which ones are going to really boost your productivity? How are you going to use those features in your next application? And we really want to hear your answers.

Here's a quick reminder of some of those features:

Tell us, and your idea may be included in the 4.2 Brainstorm article coming soon. We want to hear:

  • What feature you liked the most
  • How you plan to use it, or are you already using it?
  • What difference has it made to your MongoDB life?
  • And do you have any tips for people looking to follow in your footsteps with that feature?

The very best applied use of MongoDB 4.2 features will see its creator win Atlas credits so they could run an Atlas M10 cluster for a year (US$1000) or use it against any other cluster configuration they want to run. And we'll also be selecting second and third place entries with US$500 and US$250 of Atlas credits respectively.

The challenge will run till the end of November. You can fill in the form below or on Google Forms.
