MongoDB Master Takahiro Inoue Honored by the Japan OSS Promotion Forum for MongoDB Contributions

Takahiro Inoue, Chief Data Scientist at Treasure Data, Inc, and MongoDB Master was one of the five individuals to receive the Japan OSS (Open Source Software) Promotion Forum’s Honorable Mention Award. This award is given to up and coming open source enthusiasts who have made substantial contributions to open source software. Taka’s co-recipients includes Yusuke Yamamoto, creator of Twitter4J, a popular Java library for Twitter API, and Shota Fukumori the youngest committer of the Ruby programming language at only 15 years old.

Taka was recognized for his contributions to the MongoDB community. He has been instrumental in spreading MongoDB to the Japanese Developer community, as the founder of MongoDB JP, MongoDB’s user group in Japan, which has grown to 700 members on less than two years. He was also the major architect behind translating MongoDB’s documentation into Japanese, increasing MongoDB accessibility to the Japanese Developer community. He was also the co-organizer of the inaugural MongoDB Conference in Japan in 2011.

We congratulate Takahiro on this award and thank him for all the work he’s done to evangelize MongoDB in Japan.
