The Spring 2012 hackNY student hackathon helped to introduce students from across the Northeast to the New York City tech scene, sparking creativity and innovation in a new generation of hackers. 10gen helped students get to and from the March 24-25 hackathon with wifi-enabled buses from Boston, Providence, New Haven, Philadelphia, Princeton, and New Brunswick.
It was a big weekend for all participants, but in particular for the prizewinning teams:
Xin Yang Yak, Eugene Lee , Alexander Zhao, and Kaushal Parikh (cLoudspeaker)
Jacob Andreas (Nonsense and Sensibility)
Raymond Zhong, Daniel Chyan, and Elaine Liew (Musigallery)
Video clips from throughout the weekend, as well as photos from the event, are available on Livestream.
To better support hackNY’s mission, 10gen is committed to raising funds for hackNY ahead of MongoNYC, a one-day conference dedicated to MongoDB held right in our backyard. We've pledged to donate $1 for every MongoNYC ticket sold, and attendees can choose to make contributions of their own either ahead of time (when you purchase your ticket) or at the event itself.
You can also support hackNY by purchasing a ticket for the Powered by MongoDB hackathon on April 27—all funds raised through ticket sales for this event go to hackNY.
